In case you don’t already know and want to know more, here’s a little history… back in the late 80’s on the stages around Boston a number – fairly large number for a band – of very talented musicians came together to bring us the Heavy Metal Horns.

The HMH original line up included Henley Douglas Jr. on tenor and baritone sax; John Vanderpool on tenor and alto sax; Garret Savluk on trumpet; John Ferry on trombone and vocals; Peter Calo on guitar and vocals; Pengbian Sang on bass; John Matthews on keys and vocals; Jim Strudevant on drums; Thaddeus Hogarth on vocals and lastly, Hudson Samuel on percussion.

Other musicians who joined the band over the years included Felix Rentschler on guitar; Ed Spargo on bass and Bobby Hickman on percussion. You may have seen them in the videos on this page.

Needless to say, we certainly hope you found their sound wildly contagious – like the audiences in these clips – and that you couldn’t help but get down to their groove. We want you to know, we sincerely hope you’ll decide the offerings here only whet your appetite and you will want more!
