About SOSS Records… we are disciples of music and groove, based on Boston’s North Shore.

About SOSS: Founding Members
Henley Douglas, Jr. 

a renowned sax player who has been performing professionally for 30+ years. And, he has shared the stage with Skin, the Neville Brothers and Extreme. HD also performed with the Del Fuegos, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Laverne Baker just to name a few. He later formed his own bands over the years to include the Heavy Metal Horns and Boston Horns. He currently leads Henley Douglas RnB (HDRnB). And, he has also teamed up with guitarist, Brandon Tarricone. They perform with his funk band, Krewe de Groove and his New Orleans trad band, Krewe de Roux.

Joy Jolliffe

provides the steady rhythm that allows SOSS Records to “groove” seamlessly. She manages production, social media marketing, event planning and merchandising. Joy also generates the SOSS calendar which inspires our community to support local, live music. It has become the go-to source for music enthusiasts on Boston’s North Shore.

Kurt Overberg

a native North Shore musician and entrepreneur. He leads start up companies with his vast knowledge of technology.  Kurt also leads the SOSS team with his professional web design experience. In addition, he leverages his well developed sound expertise. He uses this skill to confirm the music is tight for the Salem Jazz and Soul Festival as well as SOSS events.

Leila Cavallaro

passionate about supporting local and live music. She is “on the scene” at every opportunity. And, she excels at fostering community relationships. She also scopes out artists and venues for networking and collaboration with SOSS. Leila is a sales and marketing professional with 25+ years in the hospitality industry. And, she is a natural at launching and promoting special events for SOSS Records.

About SOSS: Supporting Members

Roy Lavender — is an audiophile who professionally records and photographs bands. Heavy Metal Horns, Boston Horns and HDRnB are lucky enough to be among them. SOSS Records hopes to feature his recordings in a “Roy Lavender’s Vault” series soon.  Stay tuned.

Alan Tibbetts — is an interdisciplinary visual artist. Various museums and galleries have displayed his work. He has documented HD’s various music projects during their forty-year friendship. And, he also designed artwork for many of his recordings. See Alan’s work at www.alantibbetts.com.

Allamartinis — is the freelance writing team of Joyce Alla and Leslie Martini. Both are avid music lovers who specialize in feature articles and promotions. As such, they support SOSS in our mission to celebrate “original, grooving music” on Boston’s North Shore. You can find their website and blog at www.allamartinis.com.

Margaret Pelosi Lee — leads a life influenced by art and music. She realized this from the first time she picked up a crayon. And, as she sat on the living room floor next to stereo speakers listening to Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass or Nat King Cole. She works a high tech manufacturing job by day. And, she gigs as a freelance graphic designer and art maker.

Michael Cucchi — a North Shore native of two decades. And, he has two passions, original music and business strategy. He gets to live out both as a member of SOSS! He is lead singer and harmonica player of Birdface. Since 1998, he’s been managing, booking, and performing in musical acts in the Boston area. Michael has a background in business management and product strategy. As well as, technology and marketing skills to drive impact on audiences, bars, events and online merchandising.

About SOSS: Dedicated Fan and Support

Carolyn Peabody — is a multimedia/graphic designer and writer. As well as, a life-long music lover who has been singing since she could talk. And, if you know her, you know, she’s been dancing since she could walk. Carolyn started her professional design career at Rounder Records in 1993. She continues to make her living in Marketing Communications but, as a writer these days. And, supports SOSS and LIVE MUSIC whenever she can. She LIVES her love of music when she’s off-the-clock.
